An item I was storing in my backpack has been stained orange. How can I fix this?Updated 7 months ago

Color transfer is typically caused by the presence of moisture in your backpack's microsuede device sleeves.

The inner microsuede fabric of your backpack, while great for protecting your items from scratches or impacts, is somewhat less colorfast than the rest of your backpack's fabric. This means that color transfer is more likely when your backpack has any moisture on the inside. This is not indicative of a manufacturing defect. With that said, by applying a few simple remedies any staining or continued color transfer can be reversed.

Caring for your backpack:
If you haven't already, please leave the bag fully open (find something to hold the sleeves open if you can) in a well ventilated area to ensure it dries completely. Once dry, there shouldn't be any further issues with color transfer.

If your backpack has any discoloration on the microsuede, this can be remedied by making a solution of warm water and a small amount of laundry detergent, then using the solution to wet a wash cloth and gently wiping the affected area. Once clean, allow the backpack to dry completely by following the instructions in the paragraph above.

Caring for any stained items:
For most items, applying a traditional household cleaner and wiping clean should be all that is required. However, please exercise your best judgement in determining what cleaning method is best depending on what type of item has been stained.

For clothing, launder your clothing according to their washing instructions. Prior to drying, check that the stain has been removed, and if not, apply a stain remover according to package instructions and then launder the clothing again. Do not allow your clothing to dry unless the stain has been removed, as doing so may cause the stain to become permanent.

For electronics, grab a small cotton cloth/wipe, dip it in a bit of isopropyl alcohol, and rub at the stain in a circular motion. It may take a few passes, but the color should come off. Once you're done, give it a quick dry wipe and you should be good to go.

Please note: your backpack is "water resistant" but it is not "water proof." The ripstop lining is water repellent and the outer Repreve polyester has an AATCC rating of 80 (spills & light rain will bead on the surface). If you get stuck in a rain storm or any similar conditions, make sure you check for any seepage and dry your backpack as necessary. By following this precaution, you can enjoy the continued use of your backpack for many more years to come.
